Life-Giving Father, we will flourish only when we walk in your ways. You have made us, and you tell us we need rest. Keep us from justifying ourselves through ceaseless work. Give us humility to honor our parents. May we always live by your commands rather than by our own instincts. Amen.

預備自己，為主發光—

CCCINW西北堂2021年終牧函

興起發光，因為你的光已經來到，耶和華的榮耀發現照耀你。看哪，黑暗遮蓋大地，幽暗遮蓋萬民，耶和華卻要顯現照耀你，他的榮耀要現在你身上。萬國要來就你的光，君王要來就你發現的光輝。（以賽亞書60:1-3）

親愛的西北堂的會員們、弟兄姊妹們平安！

轉眼，已是2021年年終，我常和一些弟兄姊妹分享，我個人對2020和2021幾乎沒有太清晰的時間觀念，總是覺得這兩年有點是在“渾渾噩噩”中度過的。

2020和2021這兩年，在許多方面無疑是黑暗的，無論是我們個人，還是整個世界，都在面對著這史無前例的全球危機（Global Crisis）。

疫情繼續肆虐，物價持續飛漲，人們的情緒面對諸多考驗，教會部分事工停滯，許多家庭面對不少張力，我們也在掙扎到底要不要回公司上班，口罩和疫苗引起的教會矛盾，社會面對更多而不是更少的撕裂，家人長時間無法見面團聚（特別是我們這些生活在海外但是親人尚在國內的華人），等等。

我們若不真正地經歷黑暗，便不知光明的寶貴。

我們若不是為主面對這個世界的黑暗，就很難為主興起，為主發光。

我們印城華人教會（www.indychinesechurch.org）明年的主題是：

興起！發光！Arise! Shine!

這對於我們每個人都是極大的提醒和挑戰。

我相信，在過去的兩年世界裡，上帝將我們置於這黑暗的世界和環境裡，絕不只是要我們潔身自好，絕不只是要我們關注自己，也絕不只是要我們關起門來點起自己家裡的蠟燭和壁爐，絕不是要我們關上大門自我抱團取暖而已。祂將我們置於這黑暗的環境，是為了讓我們能為著祂面對這黑暗的世界，經歷這世界的黑暗，從而能為主興起而發光。

2022就在眼前，新的一年，祂要挑戰我們走出自我的恐懼和疑惑，神要挑戰我們走出自我的舒適圈和同溫層，主要挑戰我們面對未知的環境和困難，耶穌基督要挑戰我們在個人屬靈生命上不斷地成長，聖靈要挑戰我們在家庭中更加重視對子女的信仰教育和傳承，三位一體的神更要挑戰我們在教會中繼續不斷地扎根於神的話語以及弟兄姊妹間的團契和關係。

新的一年，牧者在主裡有許多領受，對教會的帶領有很多異象，西北堂的教會的事工有很多計畫，我們的同工也有很多服事和付出，所以，我弟兄姊妹們，我們每個人要做的，就是預備好自己，預備好自己為主興起，為主發光。

無論你的恩賜是什麼，無論你所面對的挑戰是什麼，無論你現在的光景如何，我盼望你和我都可以在主的恩典中，在新的一年，勇敢地站起來，為主興起，為主發光。

或許是你需要在個人的屬靈生命成長上興起，你敢於開始固定的每日靈修，每日與主親近，雖然你可能已經在每年的年初都反覆嘗試過但是卻一直未能堅持；

或許是你需要在職場中，向你從未與他/她分享過福音的同事談論信仰；

或許是你需要在職場中，脫離過去一段時間的閒散或懶惰；

或許是你需要在家庭中興起，與你你的妻子每天一起禱告，雖然你之前可能從未如此做過；

或許是在家庭中，與你的孩子開始每天的家庭崇拜，藉著唱詩、讀經和禱告來與孩子分享信仰，帶領孩子認識神；

或許是你需要在教會中興起，參與一些你從未參與過的服事，或是兒童主日學的老師或助教，或是週日早上的招待，或是帶領敬拜，或是主日崇拜的同聲傳譯；

或許是你需要在你的社區裡興起，為著福音的緣故，為著主的關於，邀請你從未邀請過的鄰舍來家裡享用晚餐，探訪你從未探訪過的鄰居。

等等…

在許多方面，你和我都可以為主興起，為祂發光。在許多方面，我們也都需要為主興起，為祂發光。

在這2021的年尾，這個感恩的季節，慶祝聖誕的季節，也是我為每位教會會員和每一個弟兄姊妹們禱告的季節。

我在主裡為大家禱告，求神紀念我們大家在過去一年裡的勞苦、壓力和重擔，更為弟兄姊妹們禱告，求神幫助大家在新的一年，可以在主的恩典中學習感恩和仰望，求神恩待和賜福每一位弟兄姊妹。讓我們這段時間可以享受與家人在一起團聚時的喜樂和安慰，也求神特別紀念不少弟兄姊妹因為各樣的原因，無法與家人團聚，無法像往常一樣和家人在一起的，我都在禱告中記念大家，我也為我們中間所有身體有軟弱的弟兄姊妹們禱告，求神大能的手醫治和撫摸；為所有在掙扎中，在困境中的肢體們禱告，求神為我們開路。

盼望我們在感恩中度過2021餘下的日子，更在仰望和信心中迎接即將到來的2022。讓我們一起為著2021感謝神，也為著2022來仰望神，相信祂的帶領和恩典！

但是弟兄們，你們不在黑暗裡，以致那日子會臨到你們像賊來到一樣。你們都是光明之子、白晝之子；我們不是屬於黑夜的，也不是屬於黑暗的。所以，我們不要沉睡像別人一樣，總要警醒謹慎。因為睡覺的人是在晚上睡，醉酒的人是在晚上醉；但我們既然屬於白晝，就應當謹慎，披上信和愛的胸甲，戴上救恩的盼望作頭盔。因為　神不是定意要我們受刑罰，而是要我們藉著我們的主耶穌基督得著救恩。基督替我們死，使我們無論是醒著或睡著，都和他一同活著。所以，你們應該彼此勸慰，互相造就，正如你們一向所行的。（帖前5:4-11）

为什么每次都是我帮助弟弟/妹妹?

为什么每次都是我帮助弟弟/妹妹?

我们老三上周4个月了，老大6岁，老二4岁半。

我过去有相当长的一段时间一直在为一件事困扰:我们老大总是埋怨我，为什么一直要求他帮助他的妹妹。

事情大概是这样的，我每天送两个孩子上学，老二很难绑上她的安全带，我总是希望老大可以帮她绑安全带:妹妹有时候很难打开她的水杯，我总是让老大帮助妹妹打开水杯…诸如此类。我每次都试着尽量态度温柔，然后和他商量而非要求。

我们老大有时很乐意，但是有时候也很不情愿，总是问我为什么，为什么每次都是我帮妹妹?为什么每次都是我?

而我能够给他的回答好像都是一样的:因为你是哥哥，所以你需要帮助妹妹，因为妹妹比你小，你比她大，她很多事情还不会，所以你需要帮她，也可以教她，她慢慢就会了…大概是这样的回答。

但是这样的回答，似乎不能够完全说服他不能够让他满意，也不能令他欣然接受。我也知道，我在这方面比较为难，一直苦于找不到好的方法去和他沟通。

上周一，两个孩子的学校有家长会，我们需要1对1的和老师面谈。我们家的两个孩子在我们家附近的一所基督教古典教育学校上学，Coram Deo Academy(https://coramdeo-in.com)，老师都是委身地方教会、爱神爱人的基督徒。

我们老大今年读1年级，在和儿子的老师的交谈中，我向老师表达了我的这个疑惑，希望她可以提供一些好的意见。老师的回答令我十分感恩，也为儿子能够有这样敬虔、爱主的老师而格外感恩。

老师的回答是这样的:我女儿过去也有这样的挣扎，我告诉她，上帝把你创造为我们家里的第一个孩子，是因为上帝对你有祂自己特别的旨意和计划，为的是你在家里成为弟弟妹妹的榜样，祂希望你可以活出耶稣基督的样式，在家里的各方面帮助你的弟弟妹妹，成为爸爸妈妈的好助手，这是为什么你
是我们家的第一个孩子的原因。

老师的回答一下子点醒了我，将孩子置于上帝的心意和计划中，而不是简单的说因为你是老大，而是把孩子带到上帝和上帝的创造面前，用这个角度去勉励和激励他。

歌罗西书1:28:我们传扬祂，是用诸般的智慧，劝戒各人，教导各人，要把各人在基督里完完全全地，引到神面前。

第二天接儿子回家的路上，我尝试了一下跟他分享了他的身份，以及神在他身上的旨意。我说完后，儿子睁大眼睛看着我，立刻欢欢喜喜地帮助妹妹绑上了安全带。回到家后，我很认真地和他聊天，希望他可以明白，为什么爸爸妈妈一直希望你帮助妹妹是因为你是家里的第一个孩子，上帝让你成
为我们家的第一个孩子，有着祂特别的计划和恩典，而你需要做的，就是用爱去回应神的呼召和旨意。

我不确定他是否能够完全理解这其中的涵义，或许并没有完全理解，但是有一点我确定他明白了，神让他成为我们家里的第一个孩子，有神特别的旨意和计划。

这过去的这一周里，我们见证了他生命中非常明显地改变，每一次，都是甘心乐意且积极主动地帮助妹妹绑安全带，帮助妹妹打开水杯…妹妹也感受到了哥哥的改变，每次都给予哥哥极大的感谢:哥哥，你真是我的好哥哥，你是世界上最好的哥哥。

我们家里的第一个孩子，不是因为他们是老大所以才成熟，是因为上帝预备他们成为第一个孩子，并预备了他们有关怀、爱人的品格，并预备了祂自己丰富的恩典，所以他们才是老大。是神的恩典将他们置于老大的地位，而不是因为他们第一个出生，所以就一定要比弟弟妹妹更加成熟、懂事。

这是我们如何在每一件事上都可以帮助和引导我们的孩子从神的心意来思考、看待那些发生在他们生命中的事情的方式，这是我最近学到的功课，希望可以对家中有多个孩子的父母们有所帮助。

以弗所书2:10:我们原是祂的工作，在基督耶稣里造成的，为要叫我们行善，就是神所预备叫我们行的。
